I kind of miss these old school Hong Kong movies. If you watch the more recent Hong Kong cinema, the acting is very stiff, and actor's attitude is much more tense. You can see that the people were still "free" when this movie was made, as they have bit more flamboyant attitude in acting. As it's usual for Wong Jin, the quality of the movie is high, and this one has expensive look to it as well. This is the most pornographic of all the movies I've seen featuring Chingmy Yau, and as if it was to be the last hurrah of her career, and the Hong Kong cinema as it was prior to repatriation of Hong Kong to China, she (almost) bears it all in this movie. I'm not sure if it was released as Cat 3 film, but the story is mostly about what happens in the bedroom between Hui (Chingmy Yau), and the emperor (plus the prince). She will also open her private archive with many unpublished photographs as well as private amateur films. This is a grand production for Wong Jin movies, and many Hong Kong luminaries stars in this rather epic story. Rich, partly unpublished archive material from all periods of Farah Pahlavi's life, especially from Iran in the 1960s and 1970s will be included in the documentary. Rich, partly unpublished archive material from all periods of Farah Pahlavi's life,… It documents her life today in Paris, accompanies her to the Shah's grave in Cairo on the anniversary of his death, and travels with her to the Biennale in Venice. The film goes on a journey with Empress Farah Pahlavi through her truly unique love story. The history of this country, which dates back over millennia, and its culture are as much the theme of this film as is the life of the Empress, a role model to women in Iran. The film tells the turbulent life story of Farah Diba Pahlavi who became the first and only empress in the history of Persia.
